Everyone has a story.
I grew up in a motor trade family, so I was exposed to the industry from a young age. At 19, I joined Porsche as an administrator, however I quickly decided my ambition was to sell cars. In 1994 there were very few women selling cars, which I saw as an advantage as I would stand out from the crowd. I thought that customers would also perhaps see this is an alternative to the stereotypical sales man.
I had an excellent and supportive Sales Manager who encouraged me immensely and became my mentor and work dad! At 21, I started selling Porsche. I moved to BMW to become a Business Manager and then when I had my 2nd daughter I made the move to Head Office to work the other side of the desk. I have been fortunate that 2 years ago I became the Southern Region Key Account Manager for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Financial Services and Aston Martin Financial Services under the ALPHERA umbrella.
The best part of my job is still being part of doing deals! I get to meet great sales teams and work alongside them, sharing my knowledge and best practice. I have been able to use transferable skills, such as excellent customer service, knowledge of sales processes and best practice.
The motor trade is full of the most fabulous and diverse people, everyone has a story, and no day is the same. Its fast paced and demanding but to see a happy customer take delivery of their new car is the greatest reward.
