Job Role: Sustainable Systems Engineer

Sustainable Systems Engineers are the innovators who design, implement, and optimise these systems across transport, energy, and infrastructure. 

As a Sustainable Systems Engineer, you’ll work across disciplines to develop solutions that improve efficiency, reduce emissions, and support circular economy principles. Whether it’s designing low-carbon transport networks or integrating renewable energy into fleet operations, your work will be central to building a more sustainable world. 

Key responsibilities include: 

• Designing and implementing sustainable transport and energy systems, including electric vehicle infrastructure, renewable energy integration, and low-emission fleet solutions. 
• Conducting lifecycle assessments and carbon impact analysis, to inform design decisions and support environmental compliance. 

• Collaborating with cross-sector teams, including engineers, data analysts, and sustainability leads to deliver holistic, future-proof solutions. 
• Monitoring system performance and optimisation, using data-driven approaches to improve efficiency and reduce waste. 
• Supporting innovation and continuous improvement, by researching emerging technologies and applying best practices in sustainable engineering. 
• Ensuring regulatory compliance and reporting, aligned with environmental standards and net zero targets.
